Researcher and author at Connors Research
Matt Radtke
Matt Radtke has been associated with the Connors Group family of companies as a student, then as a consultant, researcher and author, after about 25 years in software development at firms including Hewlett-Packard and Bell Northern Research. He co-wrote An Introduction to ConnorsRSI (Connors Research, 2012) with Larry Connors and Cesar Alvarez.
What they argue
- Price momentum, the length of an up/down streak and the size of today's move relative to recent moves each measure overbought/oversold, and averaging them into one 0-100 oscillator works better than any one alone.
- Exit rules matter as much as entries: stricter, quantified exits (such as waiting for ConnorsRSI to close above 70) raise the average profit per trade.
